About Luxury Vinyl
- Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) or Plank (LVP) is manufactured to be either glued down or click-together with no glue required, aka "floating."
- This flooring is waterproof, but that doesn't mean water can't get down through the seams to the subfloor.
- Different brands use different locking systems that click together. Not all locking systems are the same.
- Different manufacturers make LVT / LVP with different core materials, which come in various thicknesses and contribute to the overall strength of the flooring.
- The wear layer of hard-surface flooring is measured in millimeters. The wear layer does not reflect the overall thickness of the product, it is simply the outer layer. Residential wear layers start at 6 mils, and can go to 12 mils. Commercial starts at 12 mils, and can go to 20 mils.
